The National Shoora Council of Sri Lanka (NSC) extends its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, the esteemed members of the Royal Family, the Government, and the people of the State of Qatar on the passing of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Amir of the State of Qatar.
The late His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani will be remembered as a visionary statesman whose exceptional leadership laid the foundation for Qatar’s remarkable transformation into one of the world’s most progressive and influential nations. His unwavering commitment to national development, education, humanitarian service, and international cooperation has left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.
The National Shoora Council acknowledges with profound appreciation Qatar’s distinguished role in promoting peace, dialogue, and reconciliation in the Middle East and beyond. Through its consistent diplomatic initiatives and mediation efforts, Qatar has been at the forefront of facilitating dialogue and working with dedication towards the peaceful resolution of regional conflicts. These efforts have earned the respect and admiration of the international community.
The Council also recognizes Qatar’s vision in establishing Al Jazeera, which has gained global recognition for providing independent, credible, and real-time coverage of international events. Its commitment to informing the world through timely reporting and diverse perspectives has made it one of the most influential international news networks of our time.
Sri Lanka and Qatar enjoy longstanding relations founded on mutual respect, friendship, and cooperation. Qatar has provided employment opportunities to a large number of Sri Lankan expatriate workers, enabling thousands of families to improve their livelihoods while making a significant contribution to the Sri Lankan economy through their remittances. The continued support extended by the State of Qatar towards humanitarian, educational, and development initiatives has further strengthened the enduring friendship between our two countries.
At this moment of profound sorrow, the National Shoora Council stands in solidarity with the leadership and people of Qatar. We pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) showers His infinite mercy and forgiveness upon the late His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, grants him the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus, and blesses His Highness the Amir, the Royal Family, and the people of Qatar with patience, strength, and solace during this difficult time.

இலங்கை தேசிய ஷூரா சபை (NSC) கத்தார் நாட்டின் அமீர் உயர்மதிப்பிற்குரிய ஷேக் தமீம் பின் ஹமத் அல் தானி அவர்களுக்கும், மதிப்பிற்குரிய அரச குடும்பத்தினருக்கும், கத்தார் அரசாங்கத்திற்கும், கத்தார் மக்களுக்கும், கத்தார் நாட்டின் தந்தை அமீர் உயர்மதிப்பிற்குரிய ஷேக் ஹமத் பின் கலீபா அல் தானி அவர்களின் மறைவிற்கு ஆழ்ந்த இரங்கலையும், மனமார்ந்த அனுதாபங்களையும் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கின்றது.
மறைந்த உயர்மதிப்பிற்குரிய ஷேக் ஹமத் பின் கலீபா அல் தானி அவர்கள், கத்தாரின் அபாரமான முன்னேற்றத்திற்கு அடித்தளமிட்ட ஒரு தொலைநோக்கு அரசியல் தலைவராக என்றும் நினைவு கூரப்படுவார். அவரது விதிவிலக்கான தலைமைத்துவம் காரணமாகவே கத்தார் உலகின் மிகவும் முற்போக்கான மற்றும் செல்வாக்கு மிக்க நாடுகளில் ஒன்றாக மாறியது. நாட்டின் வளர்ச்சி, கல்வி, மனிதாபிமான சேவை மற்றும் சர்வதேச ஒத்துழைப்பு ஆகியவற்றில் அவர் கொண்டிருந்த அசைக்க முடியாத அர்ப்பணிப்பு, வருங்கால சந்ததியினருக்கும் ஊக்கமளிக்கும் ஒரு நிலையான மரபை விட்டுச் சென்றுள்ளது.
மத்திய கிழக்கிலும் அதற்கு அப்பாலும் அமைதி, உரையாடல் மற்றும் நல்லிணக்கத்தை ஊக்குவிப்பதில் கத்தார் வகிக்கும் தனித்துவமான பங்கை இலங்கை தேசிய ஷூரா சபை ஆழ்ந்த பாராட்டுடன் ஏற்றுக்கொள்கின்றது.
கத்தாரின் தொடர்ச்சியான இராஜதந்திர முயற்சிகள் மற்றும் மத்தியஸ்த பணிகள் மூலம், பிராந்திய மோதல்களுக்கு அமைதியான தீர்வை நோக்கி உரையாடலை எளிதாக்குவதில் கத்தார் முன்னணியில் உள்ளது. இந்த முயற்சிகள் சர்வதேச சமூகத்தின் மரியாதையும் பாராட்டையும் பெற்றுத் தந்துள்ளன.
சர்வதேச நிகழ்வுகள் குறித்த சுயாதீனமான, நம்பகமான மற்றும் உடனுக்குடன் செய்திகளை வழங்கும் அல்ஜஸீரா ஊடக வலையமைப்பை நிறுவிய கத்தாரின் தொலைநோக்குப் பார்வையையும் சபை பாராட்டுகின்றது. சரியான நேரத்தில் செய்திகளை வழங்குவதிலும் பல்வேறு கண்ணோட்டங்களை உலகிற்கு எடுத்துச் செல்வதிலும் அது கொண்டுள்ள அர்பணிப்பு, அதனை இன்றைய உலகின் மிகவும் செல்வாக்கு மிக்க சர்வதேச செய்தி வலையமைப்புகளில் ஒன்றாக மாற்றியுள்ளது.
இலங்கைக்கும் கத்தாருக்கும் இடையிலான உறவு, பரஸ்பர மரியாதை, நட்பு மற்றும் ஒத்துழைப்பின் அடிப்படையில் நீண்ட காலமாக அமைந்துள்ளது. கத்தார் நாடு பெரும் எண்ணிக்கையிலான இலங்கை புலம்பெயர் தொழிலாளர்களுக்கு வேலை வாய்ப்புகளை வழங்கியுள்ளது. இதன் மூலம் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான குடும்பங்கள் தங்கள் வாழ்வாதாரத்தை மேம்படுத்திக்கொள்ளவும், தங்கள் அனுப்பீடுகள் மூலம் இலங்கை பொருளாதாரத்திற்கு குறிப்பிடத்தக்க பங்களிப்பை வழங்கவும் வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்துள்ளது. மனிதாபிமான, கல்வி மற்றும் அபிவிருத்தி முயற்சிகளுக்கு கத்தார் அரசு தொடர்ந்து வழங்கி வரும் ஆதரவு, எமது இரு நாடுகளுக்கிடையிலான நீடித்த நட்பை மேலும் வலுப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
இந்த ஆழ்ந்த துக்கத்தின் வேளையில், கத்தாரின் தலைமைத்துவத்துடனும் மக்களுடனும் இலங்கை தேசிய ஷூரா சபை தனது ஒருமைப்பாட்டை வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றது. சர்வவல்லமையுள்ள அல்லாஹ் (SWT) மறைந்த உயர்மதிப்பிற்குரிய ஷேக் ஹமத் பின் கலீபா அல் தானி அவர்களுக்கு தனது எல்லையற்ற கருணையையும் மன்னிப்பையும் வழங்கி, அவருக்கு ஜன்னத்துல் பிர்தௌஸ் எனும் உயர்ந்த சொர்கத்தை அருள்வானாக என பிரார்திக்கின்றோம். அத்துடன், அமீர் அவர்கள், அரச குடும்பத்தினர் மற்றும் கத்தார் மக்கள் அனைவருக்கும் இந்த கடினமான நேரத்தில் பொறுமையையும், பலத்தையும், ஆறுதலையும் அல்லாஹ் வழங்குவானாக என வேண்டுகிறோம்.
“நிச்சயமாக நாம் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியவர்கள், நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவனிடமே திரும்பிச் செல்பவர்கள்.” (அல்-குர்ஆன் 2:156)
