The National Shoora Council [NSC] expresses its profound sorrow at the demise of the Most Respected Maduluwawe Sobitha Maha Nayake Thero, the Chief Incumbent of the Kotte Naga Viharaya and the President of the National Movement for the Establishment of Good Governance.
At a time when our motherland was in grave crisis, he bravely came forward to steer the nation towards democracy, good governance and racial harmony.
If we are to minimize the loss caused by his untimely demise at a time when his services were most needed to establish a united nation and democratic country, we should cast aside all divisions and commit ourselves to perpetuate the principles of a just society and good governance which he so assiduously strove to achieve.

කෝට්ටේ නාග විහාරාධිපති ගෞරවණීය මාදුළුවාවේ සෝභිත නාහිමියන්ගේ අපවත්වීම වෙනුවෙන් ජාතික ෂූරා සභාව සිය සාතිශය සංවේගය ප්‍රකාශ කර සිටී.
රට, ජාතිය විශාල අර්බුදයකට මුහුණ පා සිටි අවස්ථාවක නිර්භීත ව, ඉදිරියට පැමිණි උන්වහන්සේ රට නැවත ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදී මාවතකට ගෙන ඒමේ පෙරගමන්කරුවෙකු ලෙස සඳහන් කළ හැකි ය.
එක්සත් ජාතියක්, ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදී රටක් බිහිකිරීමෙහි පුරෝගාමියෙකු වූ උන්වහන්සේගේ අපවත්වීම වනාහි අතිවිශාල පාඩුවකි. එම පාඩුව අවම කිරීමට නම්, උන්වහන්සේ පැතූ සාධාරණ සමාජය හා යහපාලන සංකල්පය ඉදිරියට ගෙන යෑමට සියලු දෙනා එක්සත් ව, භේදයකින් තොර ව, කටයුතු කළ යුතු ය.
