According to the statement issued by the Sri Lanka Examination Department, female students must keep their face and both ears completely exposed from the beginning to the end of the examination. This is a circular released in 2019.
Accordingly, it would be advisable for us as Muslims to abide by this instruction, which was issued to ensure that the examinations take place in a proper manner, leaving no room for impersonation and other malpractices.
The National Shoora Council urges invigilators to help Muslim female students adhere to the above guidelines and not force them to do more than what is required.
It should be noted that, in general, examinees should not engage in any kind of cheating and malpractice during examinations as it is what is prescribed in Islamic law as well as the law of the country.
Excessive restrictions such as uncovering the head and removing the hijab are not required to be imposed during the examinations.
Therefore, the National Shoora Council would like to point out that examinees and invigilators should strictly adhere to the official guidelines and instructions while maintaining their individuality according to their faiths and religious practice.
It also requires the full cooperation of the invigilators so that the candidates can take the examinations in a calm environment without any fear or hindrance.

இலங்கை பரீட்சை திணைக்களம் வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிக்கையின் படி பெண் மாணவியர் தமது முகத்தையும் இரு காதுகளையும் பரீட்சையின் ஆரம்பத்திலிருந்து முடியும் வரை முழுமையாக திறந்திருக்க வேண்டும். இது 2019 ஆம் ஆண்டு வெளியிடப்பட்ட சுற்றுநிரூபமாகும்.
பொதுவாக பரீட்சாத்திகள் அனைவரும் எவ்வித பரீட்சை அத்துமிறல்களிலும் ஈடுபடக் கூடாது என்பது இஸ்லாமிய சட்ட வரம்பாக இருப்பதுடன் நாட்டின் சட்டமாகவும் இருக்கிறது என்பதை எல்லோரும் கவனத்திற்கு கொள்ள வேண்டும்.
எனவே பரீட்சை உரிய முறையில் இடம் பெற வேண்டும் என்ற நோக்கில் வெளியிடப்பட்ட இந்த சட்டத்தை முஸ்லிம்களாகிய நாம் கவனத்திற் கொள்வது எல்லா வகையிலும் பொருத்தமானதாக இருக்கும்.
அதேவேளை பரீட்சை மேற்பார்வையாளர்கள் இந்த இரு வரையறைகளையும் பேணிக் கொள்வதற்கு மாணவியருக்கு உதவியாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதனையும் அதற்கு மேல் அவர்களை நிர்பந்திப்பது எவ்வகையிலும் பொருத்தமானது அல்ல என்பதையும் தேசிய சூரா சபை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்ள விரும்புகிறது.
தலையைத் திறக்க வேண்டும்; ஹிஜாப் அணிவதை தவிர்க்க வேண்டும் போன்ற அளவு மீறிய கட்டுப்பாடுகள் அங்கு எப்படியும் செல்லுபடியாகத் தேவையில்லை.
எனவே பரீட்சாத்திகளும் பரீட்சை மேற்பார்வையாளர்களும் இது விடயமாக பரீட்சை விதிமுறைகளுக்கு கட்டுப்பட்டு நடக்க வேண்டும் என்பதனையும் அதே நேரம் முஸ்லிம் மாணவியர் தமது இஸ்லாமிய தனித்துவங்களை இழக்க வேண்டிய தேவையில்லை என்பதையும் தேசிய ஷூரா சபை குறிப்பிட விரும்புகிறது.
பரீட்சாத்திகள் அமைதியான சூழ்நிலையில், பயம், அச்சமின்றி பரீட்சை எழுதுவதற்கு பரீட்சை மேற்பார்வையாளர்களது முழுமையான ஒத்துழைப்பும் தேவைப்படுகிறது.
